Cleanse the face thoroughly with a good cleanser meant for oily skin. Preferrably use a salicylic acid cleanser.

Apply an astringent like witch hazel. It helps reduce oiliness. If its a bit harsh mix a bit of rose water in it.

Apply a good quality medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. You can get creams or gels of Benzoyl Peroxide treating blackheads If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide.

Effective Tips to get rid of blackheads

鈥xfoliate the blackhead prone area 3-4 times a week using facial exfoliators and scrubs.

鈥se creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells and ';expose'; the blackhead. Use the AHA's every 3 days or so.

鈥void washing the face with soaps more than twice a day. Instead wash your face often with plain water splashes.

If blackheads look ready to pop out, you could try removing them gently by using a blackhead extractor. Also, Pore cleanser strips (blackhead extractor) for removal of blackheads are highly recommended for the treatment/removal of blackheads. Using them once per week will leave your pores cleaner and smaller.

Blackheads are caused by pores blocked with oil. We tend to believe that the black appearance is due to dirt, but in fact, it is simply oil or sebum which has turned black due to the oxidizing effect.??

While it is easy to clean the surface of our face, making sure that our pores are clean takes a little more work than just a perfunctory splash of water.?

?

Removal strips?

Blackhead removal strips are readily available at all major departmental stores. All you need to do is to wet the strip, place the strip on your nose, which is where blackheads are very likely to form, leave it on till it dries completely, and peel it off.?

?

Steam

You could also try removing blackheads yourself, but make sure you are gentle, or you may cause scarring. Steam your face for around ten minutes with a steamer, or by placing your face over a vessel of boiling water if you do not have a steamer. Form a tent with your towel over your head and around the bowl, to trap the steam. This opens and softens pores, and makes the blackheads easier to remove. Then take a wad of cotton in both hands, and use the cotton to gently squeeze out the blackheads.?

?

Exfoliate

Make sure the blackheads don?t reappear by exfoliate your skin with a face scrub, to get rid of dead skin so they do not block pores. Use it on your nose, or wherever you have blackheads. Scrub the area gently. Do not be too harsh as you may cause further damage.?

While you need exfoliate your face only twice a week, many women have reported that their blackheads on their nose have totally disappeared after they started using a face scrub on their nose on a daily basis.?

?

Homemade face scrub

You could purchase a face scrub from the market, or make one at home. Beat up the white of an egg, and add a tablespoon of salt. Apply to your face with your fingertips, massaging gently. Wait for it to dry, and wash off with warm water.?

You could also make a scrub by adding salt to a lemon and honey mixture. After scrubbing your face, apply a little yogurt to soothe your complexion and balance the pH level.?

?

Prevention

These are temporary remedies, and blackheads will keep re-appearing unless you target the source. Make sure you keep your skin clean, by cleansing, toning and moisturizing it twice a day.?

Do not apply make up if your face is sweating. Always clean your face before applying make-up.?

Make sure you wash off all traces of makeup before turning in for the night. Never, ever go to bed with make-up still on, as it contributes to blocking pores, and will lead to pimples and blackheads.?

Avoid using oil-based make-up if you have oily skin and are prone to developing blackheads.

try cocunut oil for ur hair
Hydrogen peroxide will help with the blackheads. Not only is it a gentle cleanser for your skin, it'll also bleach out the black part of the blackhead while you're waiting for your skin to clear up.

Whatever you do, DON'T scrub your skin. Scrubbing just further irritates already irritated skin. The roughest thing you should use to wash your face with is a soft wash cloth. Use warm, not hot water and follow with a water-based moisturizer.

Make sure you drink lots and lots of water to keep your skin hydrated and increase the speed of cell regeneration. Get plenty of sleep and plenty of exercise, too. A healthy body promotes healthy skin.

Make sure you keep your hands clean and try not to touch your face. Resist the urge to pick or squeeze pimples or blackheads, it just leaves scars and irritates your skin, making the pimples worse.

Traditionally, masks are made of clay. Clay absorbs up to two hundred times its weight in water. When clay is made into a paste with water or other liquid and patted over the face and left to dry, it pulls not only impurities from the skin but also moisturizes it.

SIMPLE SOLUTION: However, note that as master herbalist Jeanne Rose notes:

';Every vegetable, fruit, seed, or nut has a place in a facial or body mask. Indeed, masks can be used by any sex and any age of human being and on any part of the body. They are used to clear up pimples or blackheads, exfoliate the outer scaly surface of the skin, refine the pores, nourish, heal and soothe, absorb excess oil, texture the skin's surface, moisturize, hydrate, lubricate, or smooth.'; - Jeanne Rose's Herbal Body Book

GUIDE TO CLAYS

FOR DRY SKIN: If you choose to use a clay, use a white clay such as French white, or use kaolin or bentonite (light gray); these are least drying.

FOR OILY SKIN: Use green or red clay.

TO NOURISH THE SKIN: Use a mineral-rich black clay from the Dead Sea

keep you hands off your face unless you are cleaning it.

boil water in a large pot - cover heard with towel to trap steam - DO NOT GET TOO CLOSE TO THE STEAM.

get just close enough to let the steam clean your pores out for say two or three mins THIS SHOULD NOT HURT.

prior to that - sorry not in order.

blend some raw oatmeal - add some water so it is like a paste - scrub (already) wet face - leave on at least once a week to use as mask - in addition to daily cleaning.

rinse with cold water to close pores.
Cleanse your face with unboiled milk, gently rub a coarse cloth dipped in milk to remove the blackheads. Steam your face with herbs like lavender, lemon peel and mint leaves added to the water and let the skin soak up its goodness.
